The bike trail 102, Seven Themes, is ideal for cycling in spring and autumn. During the summer months, do not forget sun protection and bring enough water to drink.
The bike trail 102 is called Seven Themes (Sedam tema). The trail is 38.4 km long and it has a medium physical demand level. In terms of its technical demand, the trail is easy.
The trail begins in Preko at the ferry terminal, then it continues along the coast in the direction of Ugljan. Right after its start in Preko the trail passes by the medieval church of St. John the Baptist from the 11th century. The trail runs along the entire coast of Preko with a view of the island of Ošljak, Marina Preko, the monument called Naša mati, the islet of Galevac, the Jaz beach. After 2.5 km the trail reaches the centre of Poljana with the view of the Cape of St. Peter.
In Poljana, the it turns slightly to the left and drives through a residential area following the paved road to Sutomišćica. This small island village hides the only football stadium on the island, and there are also the church of St. Euphemia (the patroness saint of the village) and the Lantana castle. After 5 km the trails turns slightly left and runs along the gravel road from Mali Lukoran to Veli Lukoran. Then, the trail goes downhill to the centre of Veli Lukoran, to the main bay. After 7 km it takes a turn and goes up to join the main island road (D110).
On this section of the trail, an ascent starts (up to maximum 57 meters). After reaching the top, there is a wonderful view of the nearby coves. After 11 km, the trail gets off the D110 and continues to Čeprljanda bay and then to the Cape Tratica. Then it continues to the centre of Ugljan, where it passes by the church and monastery of St. Jerome. After 13.4 km, the trail turns left towards the central part of the island and runs to the hamlet of Batalaža. Then it continues along the paved road towards the hamlet of Sušica. A short section of the trail leads through the green part of the island and passes by the hidden church of All Saints. After 16.6 km the trail turns left towards Gornje Selo and reaches the Muline bay, where it passes by an ancient mill the remains of an ancient Roman villa. Then it continues following the gravel road and comes to one of the most famous bays on the island of Ugljan, Južna Luka.
The trails follows the same road back to Donje Selo and continues then to the hamlet of Guduće. After 20 km, the trail turns towards the hamlet of Fortašćina and after 24.5 km it joins the D110 main road. The island road offers a beautiful view of the island from Lukoran to Kali. After 35.3 the trail leaves the island road and descends to the village of Kali. It passes by the bay of Batalaža and arrives at the harbour of Kali, where you can enjoy the view of the fishing boats and the island of Ošljak. The last section of the trail runs to its starting point in Preko.
