Veliki Bokolj and Oštro peaks are connected by a path that should be passed carefully. Also, special care should be taken when descending from the Oštro peak to the foot of the path that leads to Mali Bokolj.
“Vrhovima Pašmana” (The Peaks of Pašman) trail begins in the village of Dobropoljana and ends also end here. Still, an alternative starting point can also be in the hamlet of Banj. The trail is 9.9 km long and it takes 3:30 hours to walk it.
The trail starts climbing up to the peak of Veliki Bokolj (274m), which is the highest peak of the island of Pašman, at the beginning of the road that separates from the main island road near the Dobropoljana bus stop. The beginning of the trail is marked by a tourist information board.
The ascent is very pleasant because it follows the road, a path, and then a gravel road that runs all the way to the top. Veliki Bokolj offers a stunning view of the Pašman Channel, Velebit, and when the visibility is good, Dinara, Promina and Svilaja, further south, as well as the hills in the hinterland of Šibenik. It is also possible to see Kornati and Vransko jezero.
A path leads to the peak of Oštro. At the peak of Mali Bokolj there is the church of Our Lady of Loreto, which can be accessed by a stone path on which the Stations of the Cross are installed. The trail later passes through the old part of the hamlet of Banj, descends across the main road and follows a country road to Dobropoljana. The final stage of the follows the main road for 1.1 km and then goes through the village of Dobropoljana.
