This fortress called Ugrinića dvori was built in the 16th century and it is the legacy of the noble family Ugrin, the famous Zrinski Frankopan lineage. It is a two-floor stone fortress surrounded by a high dry wall that could accommodate up to fifty people at once. It was used as housing for the army and ancestors of today’s population of the village of Ugrinić. The entire fort comprised many smaller and larger rooms and their purpose can be still recognised today. You can still see where the kitchen, work area or area for domestic animals used to be. On the top floor of the fortress, a special house for the commander was built, and right next to it there was an open-air altar with a beautiful stone bench that was used for mass relics. There are also several spots with carved signs of Christianity. There are fertile fields in the immediate vicinity of the fortress, which was another reason why this particular location was chosen for this dwelling. The high quality of the stone and superb carving point to the fact that the owners of the fortress were very wealthy. The fortress was inhabited until the beginning of the 20th century.

The Ugrinića dvori fortress is listed in the Register of Cultural Property of the Republic of Croatia of the Ministry of Culture.
