Church of St. Anthony the Hermit – Otus

The Bay of St. Anthony and the medieval site called Otus are situated between two capes, Mali Zaglav and Rasovica. In 14th/15th century, Venturin Pacijev from Zadar, a Pašman eficionado originally from Cesena, built a summer house called Kaštelin as well as several residential buildings. At the beginning of the 15th century, the church of St. Anthony the Hermit was built.

Today, only the church is the only one preserved from the entire former complex of buildings. As for the other buildings, only the remains of the foundation walls or their ruins are visible. The building, Kaštelin, as the inhabitants of the island of Pašman call it, served as a shelter for the locals and their belongings from pirates. The purpose of the other building, known among the locals as Arsenal is not known.
