The legend of Kozlak
According to legend, Kozlak, who could most easily be described as a creature of a supernatural physical strength, looks like a werewolf (but a hundred times scarier), hair as black as the darkest night, claws that cut through the hardest metal like butter, eerily white fangs that freeze blood in veins just by looking at them and blood-red eyes whose gaze you can’t escape. He hid in the attic of Čuka’s house, which is located in the old village of Zaglav. In the darkest corner of the attic he would wait for the night to fall and lurk for anyone who would be carelessly left alone.
In order to catch the creature that seemed to have come from hell itself, the locals turned to the friar for help. When they came to the front of the house, Kozlak smelled the crowd, broke through the roof and jumped into the sea near Trstenica in just two steps, causing the wave so big that it swept all the way to the village. Even today you can see his footprints at the place where he landed, and there were never any more fish in the sea of Trstenica bay.
And so, open your eyes well when you explore this trail and try to get back before dusk. It’s not that we didn’t warn you…
