The Branch Ethnographic Collection in Veli Iž comprises 781 items. This collection is a result of efforts of local individuals who, with the help of and in cooperation with the Ethnographic Department, made an exhibition of donated items belonging exclusively to the local ethnographic material in 1975. The exhibition occupies the entire ground floor and two more floors of the building. It very vividly evokes the life on the island of Veli Iž in the past in all its segments. In terms of variety of the presented materials it is a unique form never seen on any of the Dalmatian islands (a kitchen with all appliances, costumes, weaving tools, knitting techniques and handicrafts made of wool, linen and cotton, shoemaking, local and imported pottery, housing, agriculture, fishery, cattle breeding, family communities, religious customs and folklore).
The collection was integrated with the National Museum Zadar in 1994. (Source: The National Museum Zadar)
