Toreta is a 15-meter-high stone tower with a spiral staircase, located in the center of the village on Silba. It was built in the 19th century, and according to legend, it was erected by a sailor, Petar Marinić, as a symbol of love for his beloved Antonija Mauro. Because of this, it is also known as the Monument of Love or Marinić’s Toreta. From the top of the tower, there is a stunning view of the entire island and the surrounding sea. Toreta is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Silba and a favorite attraction for visitors.
